Groundwater in IWRM
The concept of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is based on a holistic view on natural resources. This incorporates – among many other aspects – that management decisions in the water sector take the whole hydrological cycle into consideration. In reality this is often not the case because knowledge about underground resources is usually weak. The project addresses specific topics where groundwater is neglected and supports the development of concepts and strategies for a better integration of groundwater into management processes.
